About the MemberCard Program
By joining the MemberCard program, your organization will be highlighted to quality audiences through Public Media and Nonprofit organizations. And, you'll be in great company - with more than 11,000 restaurants, arts and cultural organizations, golf courses, and B&Bs from the East Coast to the West Coast and in Canada that honor the MemberCard on a single use 2-for-1 discount!

There are NO out-of-pocket costs with this program. All you have to do is welcome new customers as they present their MemberCard for a 2-for-1 savings.






The two-for-one MemberCard program works so well for your establishment because it compliments the way people like to dine out, visit cultural attractions, play golf and stay overnight at inns - exploring a variety of new and different places - and returning to their favorites. The MemberCard serves as a local directory of benefits. And that's why your establishment should be included in the choices.



How the Program Works
   • Sign up with MemberCard.com to join your local station's MemberCard program.
   • Acquaint your staff so that they are familiar with your MemberCard offer and ready to honor it.
   • Enjoy promotions on the web, in print, and on-air to quality audiences.
   • Welcome customers as they present their MemberCard for a single use, 2-for-1 savings.


 
 
Accepting the MemberCard FAQ

1. What does it cost to participate as a benefit provider?
There are NO out-of-pocket promotional costs associated with this program. Your only expense is the cost of the one-time discount you agree to provide to MemberCard holders, who are likely to become loyal repeat customers.

2. How will my business be promoted?
In exchange for your participation you will receive year-round promotion through a variety of media including your local nonprofit's Directory of Membership Benefits, online at www.membercard.com - including a link to your own website where nonprofit members can find additional information on your business, and lastly through on-air mentions by the participating local public media stations usually during, but not limited to, pledge drive times.

3. Can you help me train my staff?
Yes! Shortly after you've signed your participation agreement, we will mail you a Welcome Kit which includes: a welcome letter, a copy of your agreement, a window decal for display showing your support for the program, two complimentary MemberCards for your personal use and an Instruction Card showing your offer as it appears in the Directory of Membership Benefits, your assigned benefit number, and directions on how to honor the card when presented. After we mail your Welcome Kit, we'll follow-up with you to confirm that you have received the information and to answer any questions you or your staff may have about welcoming new MemberCard customers.

4. How do I know if a MemberCard is valid?
The expiration date can be found on the bottom right corner of the MemberCard.

5. How do I honor a MemberCard discount?
For dining benefits, members will order two or more entrées and the least expensive is deducted from their check. Simply cross-out your assigned benefit number from the grid located on the back of the MemberCard or the back of the Directory of Membership Benefits to ensure the discount is used just once per MemberCard. Refer to the Instruction Card or Directory for your specific offer.

6. How do I cross-out my assigned benefit number?
When a customer presents their MemberCard simply use a pen (permanent ink is recommended) to cross-out your assigned number. Your assigned benefit number can be found on the grid located on the back of the MemberCard or in some cases on the back of the Directory (never in both locations).

7. Is the MemberCard valid during our promotions or holidays?
No, the MemberCard is not valid on any major US or Canadian holiday. These include Canada Day, New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Day, Valentine's Day, Presidents Day, St. Patrick's Day, Good Friday, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Remembrance Day, Victoria Day, Thanksgiving, Boxing Day, Christmas Eve and Day. The MemberCard is also not valid in conjunction with other specials you may offer (Early Bird Specials, etc.), discount offers such as senior citizen discounts, or coupons.

8. Can a group of customers present more than one card? 
Our policy states that no more than three MemberCards may be used in any one group; a different MemberCard must be presented for each free item

Our Story

Member Benefits, Inc. develops and maintains contributor loyalty programs for nonprofit organizations. Our programs help our clients provide donors with valuable benefits in return for their continuing support.

We bring a fundraiser's perspective to our work and this drives us to keep costs extremely low and minimize the staff time required to implement a successful donor loyalty program. Working with nonprofit organizations is a source of pride for our team and we dedicate ourselves to helping our clients meet their fundraising goals.

Our in-house services include a print and card production facility, graphic design, website development, merchant recruitment and management and direct response consulting. Our main office is located in the seacoast region of New Hampshire, with remote offices in Georgia and Wisconsin.

MBI was founded in 1990 by its current CEO, Jonathan Sack and Mel Richey, who retired in 1999. The entire MBI team is devoted to evoking the amazement of our clients over the quality of our service and our commitment to helping them succeed.
